Our Story
Kaya Maraya Silkiss-Hero, a proud biracial American woman, is a multi-talented business owner based in the San Juan Islands. Originally from Lopez Island, WA, she now resides in Friday Harbor. Kaya's diverse skills include property preservation and developement, running a General Contractor construction company, and has diverse degrees in Equine Psychotherapy, Native American studies, and Chemical Dependency Counseling- Addiction Studies, among other certifications and her hobbies as a photographer and Maine Coon cattery. She's well-versed in the complexities of the construction industry, the island life style and adept at finding solutions for unique challenges. Kaya is not only a hands-on owner but also an advocate for empowering other men and women, inspiring others to pursue their own ambitions and continues to learn. She is currently working in finishing her Home Health Care Assistant license and working towards EMT training in the spring. Her energy, attention to detail, commitment to her island culture and community make her stand out in her field.
